That ain't Spud Webb!

My son recently threw a few bucks in my PayPal account, which I never use anymore.  It was a really small amount, so I decided to throw those 'free dollars' away on some random Ebay stuff.  Being only a couple of inches from being a dwarf myself (that may be a bit of an exaggeration, but I have always been short), I decided to grab cards of some short NBAers!

Here is what I brought home...

Muggsy RC!!  I think this is a card I would gladly take as many copies of as I could get.  Such a cool player.  And the other card is at least short (being a sticker).  But it isn't what I purchased!  I bought and paid for the Spud Webb from the same sticker set (1986/87 Canasta if you are interested).  And yet Dr. J showed up.  I guess I won't complain.  But if you have any cool Spuds send them my way!

  1. Ha. That's quite the accidental upgrade. But Doc doesn't fit your theme.

I remember Spud for winning the slam dunk contest as a Hawk, and late in his career, staying after Kings' practices to spend extra time on his free throw shooting.

  2. I actually just traded for a Muggsy RC. Needed it for my 88-89 Fleer set build.

I have a couple Spuds I can send you, if you need his '92-93 Ultra & '93-94 Fleer base cards?

  3. A few years ago, I built a "small" autograph collection of "short" athletes. At the time, I considered starting a Bogues PC. It never got off the ground though. I'll dig through my basketball and see if I have any extra Bogues or Spuds I can send your way.

  4. I sort of collect both Bogues and Webb, but rarely add anything new to either collection.

  5. I don't have that big of a basketball card collection yet (just starting back into collecting basketball cards), but I do have two collections within my collection. One is for players that stood 5'11" or shorter, and the other is for players who stood 7'0" or taller.
