Beat up vintage for the Holidays

 Two offerings in, I have gotten 10+ packages of cards sent out with my motivation/contest posts.  I am happy, since my only goal is increasing the # of card envelopes making the rounds. And I am going again with a completely different motivator/prize!

I am going to send all of the cards described/pictured below to one person, the lucky winner.  Here is what you have to do to qualify for a chance to be that person:

1. Comment on this post (by Friday Dec 5th at 8PM Eastern Time) that you will commit to sending out a package with cards in it to another person in the blogosphere (blogger or reader, doesn't matter).

2. That's it!  I won't be trying to verify that you have actually sent the package, I'm just trying to get the snowball rolling.  


The size and contents of the 'package' that you send is totally up to you, a single card in a PWE or a huge box, whatever you want.

Anyone is eligible, even those who entered last time or have already won something!  However, if you entered in previous 'holiday' contests and want to enter again, then you are committing to sending ANOTHER package, not just the one(s) you already committed to send.

I will take all the eligible comments and randomize the list three times to get our winner, who will receive... 

A bunch of vintagy cards, almost all in pretty beat up condition.  We will start with a batch of Kellogg's from various years, with some semi-stars in there:


Then a few Laughlin cards I have picked up randomly:

And 17 of the 33 card 1969 Deckle set, again, only semi-stars:

And some random horizontal cards from the 60's:

These are the only cards from the 80's, I think.  I don't know how many people think of these as vintage.  All are definitely not mint.

A decent batch of hammered cards from the 70's.  Some of these are really bad, like the Brett where someone wrote on the front.  The Robinson on the bottom row seems to have been cut out of a box of something, I have no idea what it is.  And the Colavito, I can't remember if it is from the 60s or 70s.

And to finish up, cards from the 60s. The Wills, Rose and Drysdale lead the way in brutal condition!

    OK, I guess I have to be in on this.

    So...let me also throw it out there, if you want to be the person I send an envelope too, just hit reply and tell me what team you want. It can be in any of the four main sports, except that aside from baseball I only have older stuff, so no recent expansion teams. If you'd rather have non-sport I can accommodate that too. In fact, I'll send out up to three if I get enough requests! Can't promise it will be anything great but I'll try to at least make it fun....

    I'm in! I'm working on most of those sets, and dupe star cards in bad shape can possibly get repurposed for cardart.

    Wowza. This lot is awesome. Lots of stuff I can use... but I'll pass on entering. Still need to focus on my first group of care packages I've committed to shipping out first. Glad to see the number of participants in these giveaways is going up.
