Serial #d cards for the Holidays

Three offerings in, I have gotten 20+ packages of cards sent out with my motivation/contest posts.  Pretty good.  I am running out of cards, so this is your last chance to get in on the action!!

I am going to send all of the cards described/pictured below to one person, the lucky winner.  Here is what you have to do to qualify for a chance to be that person:

1. Comment on this post (by Friday Dec 12th at 8PM Eastern Time) that you will commit to sending out a package with cards in it to another person in the blogosphere (blogger or reader, doesn't matter).

2. That's it!  I won't be trying to verify that you have actually sent the package, I'm just trying to get the snowball rolling.

The size and contents of the 'package' that you send is totally up to you, a single card in a PWE or a huge box, whatever you want.

Anyone is eligible, even those who entered last time or have already won something!  However, if you entered in previous 'holiday' contests and want to enter again, then you are committing to sending ANOTHER package, not just the one(s) you already committed to send.

I will take all the eligible comments and randomize the list three times to get our winner, who will receive...

340 serial numbered cards!  Yes, I am going back to my roots, and continuing my past offerings of serial numbered cards.  If you missed the last several times I have given them away, here's another try.

There are too many cards to show up close, but it's quite a mix.  I'd estimate that about half of the players in the lot made All Star teams, with some being top tier guys like Trout, Betts, Guerrero etc. There are 44 cards of  HOFers, over 10% of the entire lot.  And of course lots of cards of nobodies, but many of those are autos or funky patch cards.  Hopefully the winner won't be disappointed!

A note on this....  I know this is a lot of cards, and some of us are cutting back.  If you win and don't want them all, let me know what not to send and I can cut it down, but I am totally up for sending them all if you can handle that many!

Here are a couple of pics:

The non-all star cards:

The "these guys at least made an all-star team" (mostly?) cards:

And the HOFers:

If you want in on a chance to get this lot, comment that you will send out a package to someone!!

Beat up vintage Winner

We had 5 participants for the drawing, and a few more that committed to sending things out, without entering the drawing, which I also appreciate.

So here is the initial list, ready to randomize three times:

The first randomization:

The second randomization:

And the final randomization with the top name being the winner:

The winner is Night Owl!!!  I will get the beat up vintage cards out the door Monday.  Stay tuned for something else on Sunday too....again... last one....

Pick me a Player #9 - Gary Carter

I have 137 different players in my keepers with at least 10 cards.  The players are listed at the end of this post.  In an effort to get myself posting more consistently, I invite the first commenter on this post to choose one of the players below and I will post 5 of the most interesting cards I have of that player as the subject of another blog post.  Then on that post, the first commenter can pick another player and when I get around to it, I will post 5 cards of that player, and so on.

So who will be my first commenter/player picker on this post???  Additional comments are welcome, but only the first one will be the player featured on the next post.

The Eighth player picked to be featured in this series was picked by Angus, and is......

Gary Carter!!

.

Cards of Gary Carter that I would like to add to my keepers:
1. Full size RC
2. Wouldn't mind a nice auto of him.
3. 1984 Stuart Montreal Expos or 2019 Topps 591 - Legends variation

OK, on to the five cards I selected...no particular order.

1.2004 Donruss Throwback Threads #/100

I know Carter played for 4 different teams, and even though I have the most memories of him as a Met, I am partial to cards of him on the Expos.  As you will see...

2. 1992 O-Pee-Chee

Yep, Expos.  'Kid' looks like a kid here.

3. 1977 Topps
Good pose as staged poses go.  A nice looking card.

4.1976 SSPC
Simple but compelling.

5. The RC, 1975 Topps
Seems like I always have to include the RC, right?  This mini from 1975 is sweet, but is also the reason I put a "Full size RC" in the wants above.
