The prizes have all gone out! Hopefully some of you will get them before Christmas, but if not, sorry.
Due to the contest and other stuff, I have fallen way behind on new stuff I have bought and received, so heeeeeeeer we go!
New addition to my Big Man On Court collection. She's a beaut! As always, if you have any of these to trade, let me know!
Contest winnings from XXXXX! Thanks for the cool contest! I always love well designed inserts and this is my first card of Mr. Belt.
Wonderful, ridiculous, awesome McGwires from Ryan at This Card is Cool! I love em! He sent a bunch more including some very pretty shiny inserts of other (lesser?? Everyone's lesser than BigMac!) players that were also much appreciated!
Kyle at Juuust a Bit Outside & Derek at Tomahawk Chopping each held card drafts that I took part in. Stupidly, I mixed the cards from both drafts up! So the next 2 pics are a few of the coll cards I got from both drafts.
Thorzul of the Will Rule blog held one of his El Cheapo breaks and here is some of my loot! Very cool variety. Thanks T!
Wicked of The Cardboard Don and I completed a trade recently. Here are a few of the highlights, but there was tons more. You always get the goods from the Don!
Wow, that was a bunch and I didn't show even half of the cards! Thanks all!

Mega contest - 6th winner!
We are down to the last 2 prizes, the Serial #'d lot and the Vintage from the 60's. Remember, AdamE gets one of these prizes, so if he doesn't win this one, the Vintage 60's is his. I haven't randomized as I am writing this, so the suspense is affecting me too! Here we go!
Here are the results. The winner of the Day 3 prize, the Serial #'d lot, is:
Congratulations to BASEBALL DAD! Get me your address asap (even if I already have it, I'm swamped!) so I can get your cards out!
That means AdamE gets the Vintage 60's! Get me that address too!
Thanks to all who participated, it has been a lot of fun. If you didn't win, I will start building up for hopefully another run like this next December. Merry Christmas!

Woooweee! It's been fun watching the entries roll in! Thanks to everyone who entered and helped publicize this thang!
I truly wish I could give prizes to all of you (postage sucks!). The blogging community is really my only connection to the hobby. If it wasn't for you guys, I would have packed the cards away and forgotten about them. When I was a kid, trading face to face was the funnest part of collecting. Since I can't do that anymore, blogging will have to take its place. Anyway, thanks a ton for all the participation!
Here are the first results. The winner of the Day 6 prize, the Multi-Player cards lot, is:
Congratulations to Cardhobbyist! Get me your address asap (even if I already have it, I'm swamped!) so I can get your cards out!

Contest closed - and prize order randomization
Contest is closed! Here is the order that the prizes will be awarded:
I'll try to get the randomizations all done today. The Multi-Player cards lot(Day 6) is up first! Stay tuned!
This means that if they don't win any of the first 5 randomizations, Captain Canuck and AdamE will win days 3(Serial #'d lot) and 4(Vintage from the 60's) respectively. If one of them wins in the 1st 5 randomizations but the other does not, the one that didn't win will automatically win Day 4(Vintage from the 60's) . So those of you who want either of those prizes, root for AdamE and Captain Canuck! (if you don't understand why this is, see the rules and look for their names)
I'll try to get the randomizations all done today. The Multi-Player cards lot(Day 6) is up first! Stay tuned!

OK, I have decided that I suck at blogging. I don't write so good, or often enough or anything else to make people want to read. But I do put on a mean contest/giveaway thingy.
So here is the deal. Seven days, seven different prizes. All you have to do to qualify is leave a comment on any of the seven posts saying you want to try for that post's prize. Here is the catch: You can only sign up for 1 of the prizes! So if you like today's prize, leave a comment and you will be entered for that random.org drawing. You can delete your comment on a post if you decide to try for another day's post.
One last wrinkle. I have been running a Bash the Beckett trading page with a running trade of increasing Beckett value. In that experiment, I stated that anyone who participated would get paid off in the end. This is that time. The bloggers who made trades on this program will automatically be entered for all seven of the prizes. They can put in another entry just like everyone else as well. ALSO: When I random.org the prizes, I will 1st randomize the order of the prizes to be given away. Then I will random off each prize. If the two 'special' entrants have not won prizes by the end, they will automatically win the last prizes.
So if you were a generous trader in the Bash the Beckett, you are guaranteed a prize! This still leaves 5 prizes for the rest of you.
Here are the two awesome Bash the Beckett winners:
Captain Canuck of Waxaholic
AdamE of Thoughts and Sox
Pimping gets you ONE extra entry on a post of your choice (you can double up on a post if you want). Leave a link if you want to take advantage of this. People who commented on my last post also get a bonus entry, so Skroeker, Speigel and Night Owl, feel free to enter on 2 posts (or 3 if you pimp).
OK, so on with Day 1's prize... keep in mind that the more popular prizes will get more entries, lowering your chances of winning.
Day 1: 34 Will Clark's + 1 mystery vintage (pre-1980) Hall of Famer card.
Traded RC's and 'real' RC year

Gimme the good stuff
OK, I know I haven't been posting at all, but I will soon, including some kind of holiday/christmas/festivus type contest/giveaway.
But that's in the Fyoooooture!
I can't believe I'm saying this, but I need some more good card blogs to read! I have a metric ton of them to read every day, but my appetite exceeds all reasonable bounds! So I am asking you, the knowledgeable pundits of the blogosphere, to stock me up!
Here's what I am interested in:
1. Newer blogs with good writing and/or concepts
2. Potential trading partners
So hook a blogger up! Leave me comments, e-mail me, whatever. You can leave as many blogs as you want for me to check out, just leave a URL or link, I don't want to search, so make it easy! Out of all the blogs submitted(that are new to me), I'll pick my 5 favorites and one of them will get a plug on this blog and a small care package in their collecting interests.
Spread the word!!! Tell your friends!!! Oh, and here are a couple of pics, since text only blogging sucks.

My favorite pickup from this month's show
Notice: The Bash the Beckett experiment has finally been updated! Go check it out!
Card show last week...
I got some stuff for trades, about 20 McGwires for my steroid fueled personal collection, some nice, funky looking inserts, blah blah blah.
But my favorite card was one that many of you probably wouldn't think twice about. Here it is:
I can hear the drooling now!!! A Brandon Drumm Bowman Chrome RC Red Refractor! What a find, eh?
OK, by the confused silence, I feel the need to explain. There are a couple of reasons I feel good about this card.
1. It's a red refractor. I have exactly zero red refractors. Well, now I have 1.
2. It's numbered out of 250. Okay...
3. He was one of only 7 players born in Alaska to be drafted into the NFL. Okay again...
4. It's encased in a huge slab of plastic. Duh...
5. It looks really, really nice in person (not so much the scan, sorry)
And the real reason
6. I got it for a dime!
Actually, I probably used 2 nickels. I hate nickels, they take up too much space in my pocket and they are only worth half a dime! But seriously, I looooooooooooooove value! I realize that I could put this up on the Bay for 15 cents with free shipping and probably not get a bite, but in my little mind, I scored.
If you have made it this far, I apologize for making you dumber by reading my slop. That is all!

Supersweettrade - wantlist edition!
Jason over at Hobbs' Knights recently bit on a bunch of Ripkens I put up for trade. I was hoping to get a couple of things off my wantlists. Yeah, that happened and more. Jason really knows how to trade!! Everything he sent was from my wantlists. And my wantlists are not easy to work with. Thanks Jason!!
First up, two cards that are VERY different from each other. Herman Franks 68 Topps and a Upper Deck Arod RC. Hmmm, stuff they have in common...they're both rectangular. And they come right off my wantlists!
Most of this next bunch of stuff fits into the 'I like shiny' fetish I have. Really, I'm like a raccoon. The Chipper adds to my mini collection of Gallery of Heroes. I love those!
Finally,
Oooooohhhhh! That's the stuff. Those top 3 are just redonkulous. The others ain't bad either! What can I say, I have a weakness for hitting coaches!
Thanks again Jason!

Make an Offer - Trade Bait 3
Before you make me an offer below, check out my Hits for Trade page on the sidebar!
Over the last year, I have accumulated a fairly large number of cards of players that I don't collect. More often than not, nobody wants them and I am stuck with them.
So I have decided to make a few bait posts, and see if there is any demand for them as a lot, player by player. I'll take the best offer for all of them! I'd really rather trade them all than 1 or 2 at a time, to save on postage. If there are no offers, I'll put them on the Bay and take what I can get.
In return, I'm looking fewer cards! I just want to get rid of some excess!
This week, it's Cal Ripken Jr. Just for fun, I looked these Ripkens in a (year old) Beckett and came up with a value of $170! That does not mean I am looking for $170 in return value, just a fun note. Any reasonable offer will be looked at. I am trying to liquidate, after all. Thanks!

Big Mac Surprise!
Here we have a 1997 Topps Finest Mark McGwire Refractor. I got it in the mail today from one of the best bloggers out there, Greg from Platshke, Thy Sweater Is Argyle. It doesn't really look as 'refractory' as most 'fractors, so I look on the back and, sure enough, there is the word REFRACTOR, right where it always is on Finest. Nice! But what else do I see, but big red letters screaming PROMOTIONAL SAMPLE NOT FOR RESALE. Check it out.
Up until now, I had never seen a sample refractor (I am sure they are all over, but I'm sheltered here in the Great NorthWest). You might wonder how I feel about it being a sample and not the 'real thing'. Well, as the quotes around 'real thing' in the last sentence may have tipped you off, I'm ecstatic! Awesome to the max (or to the Mac). What a wonderful addition to my hard to find McGwires collection! Thanks Greg!
But that's not all, check out the other cool cards he sent me!
Beautiful vintage including a Braves Team Card with Hank Aaron on it another sweet McGwire and three beautiful relics of future HOF'ers (Bonds? I think eventually).
If you haven't had the chance to trade with Greg, or read his stuff (the Erin Hawksworth post is my favorite), then get over to Platshke, Thy Sweater Is Argyle! You wont be sorry!
Thanks again Greg.
